The land of cloud marketplaces just got a new resident - IBM. On Monday, the tech giant launched the IBM Cloud marketplace, Big Blue's bid to offer enterprises a seamless transition to cloud and speed the adoption of hybrid clouds. With their ability to combine on-premise and cloud applications, hybrid clouds increasingly are being viewed as the norm. Analyst group Gartner has said 50 percent of enterprises will have hybrid clouds in place within three years.

Facebook’s is getting more and more mobile, now with 1.01 billion users on small screens. It’s Q1 2014 earnings show it beat expectations, earning $2.5 billion in revenue with an $0.34 EPS. It now has 1.28 billion total monthly users, 802 million daily users, and 609 million daily mobile users. Facebook continued its march to become a mobile ad company with 59% of ad revenue coming from portable devices. Wall Street had expected $2.36 billion in revenue and earnings of 24 cents per share.

Healthcare Professionals Did You Know? Non-hospital-based physicians and other eligible professionals can obtain incentive payments of as much as $44,000 under Medicare or $63,750 under Medicaid. Under both Medicare and Medicaid, eligible hospitals may receive millions of dollars for implementing and meaningfully using certified EHR technology.


About two-thirds (65 percent) of hospitals and 32 percent of office-based physicians plan to enroll in meaningful use programs by the end of 2012 in order to receive the maximum incentives, according to survey results announced Thursday morning. Fewer federal dollars will be available to hospitals and doctors that wait to adopt EHR technology, and failure to meaningfully use EHRs starting in 2015 will result in Medicare penalties.
